Wildflower

Wildflower (2024), a mixed media installation based off ‘Women’s Shed’, a female gardening group based in Dunvant, Swansea. Here friendships bloom alongside flowers, synthesising an interpersonal relationship between women and ecology. Seed paper anthrotypes of the flowers grown by ‘Women’s shed’ on them are used to be planted in the handmade planter below.

Translated into a photo book the documentation takes environmental considerations into its materiality and process. Through both cyanotypes and anthrotypes the book expands our community, both through the empowerment of women and the ability to plant the seed paper prints and grow your own flowers.
